A group of students from INSEEC Business School of Paris have recently completed a four-week training course organised by Ms Odette Vella and held at SmartCity Malta.
The course aimed at providing the participants with the necessary knowledge to start up and manage a company or a project in Malta.
The students, who are currently completing their Master degree and also work as apprentices in companies such as IBM Paris or SNCF – the French National Railway Corporation, chose their projects which included the organization of an event as well as the design, development and deployment of a website to support the same events. At the end the projects were evaluated by a judging panel made up of both Maltese, Italian and French professionals.
Upon completion of the course, program coordinator Ms Odette Vella stated “I am very satisfied with the final outcome of all the projects, the students worked very hard and overcame the challenges of managing a project in a country different to theirs. This was the first time I organized this program and it was a good success”.
The students have been assisted in the development of their projects by Dott. Fabio Giangolini of Strategic Communications who delivered a series of lectures focusing on the history and evolution of Maltese media, the planning and implementation of different advertising strategies, the use of mobile marketing, the integration of online and offline advertising campaigns, and the management of public relations in relation to a company’s corporate image. Marketing managers and directors of Athenaeum Spa, Estetika and Focal Maritime Services have also delivered presentations about their specific companies. Major Ivan M. Consiglio from the Public Information Cell of the Armed Forces of Malta has also participated in the initiative.
