How gender affects the use of technology and social media

Predictably, gender has an impact on the way social media are used. According to a research from FinancesOnline.com, women are more likely to post images of their dinner, while men are more likely to be reading and sharing the latest news or a video.

Gender also has an impact on the use of QR codes, with men more likely to scan a QR code or a coupon (56%) than women (39%).

Women are more likely to like a brand page on Facebook or Google + (71%) than men (18%), they tend to ignore social media advertisements (48%) more frequently than men (42%) as well as mobile text advertisements (59% vs. 52%).

More women than men prefer to play a videogame on their smartphone (38% vs. 28%).
