Come this October (and just on time for the Christmas season) Facebook will roll out a new function that will turn advertisers’ ads into interactive catalogues. Available for the mobile-only Collection adverts called “lifestyle templates”, the new option aims at converting leads into sales, by making use of a new format featuring a catalog-like look and layout and full-width images supplemented with text.
Advertisers will be able to choose to have those items appearing in a photo and available for purchase, marked with a clickable white dot that will redirect a visitor to the retailer’s website or landing page. Retailers will also have the option to feature a store locator.
